On a property with horses, a garden, or an irrigated pasture, the dogs rarely stay on one side of the door. They trot through the back slider wet from the ditch, flop on the family room rug, and head out again. Mixed into that red-brown dirt you usually find a few urine spots, most of them right where the dog waits to be let out.
Mud is a soil problem. Urine is a chemistry problem. A crew that treats them the same way leaves you with a carpet that looks clean and still smells like a barn on the next humid afternoon. We separate the two: dirt gets a standard pre-spray and agitation, while every urine spot gets its own enzyme before anything else touches it.
Step one is finding every spot, not only the one you pointed at. Urine spreads sideways as it sinks, so the damp footprint below the surface is wider than the stain above it, and we mark the real edges.
Next comes Un-Duz-It, an enzyme that digests the uric acid crystals responsible for the smell instead of covering them with perfume. It sits and works for a while before the cleaning starts. Then hot water extraction rinses out the broken-down residue, and we watch the rinse water through a clear window on the wand until it comes up clean. Air movers help the area dry so a damp pad does not cause trouble of its own.
