Travertine Cleaning & Sealing in the Phoenix Area, AZ

Travertine is the most common natural stone in East Valley homes, and the one Arizona is hardest on. Hard water, desert dust, and sun leave it chalky, pale, and flat, and the pits and grout lines hold dirt a mop just pushes around. We clean it, seal it, and bring the color back, with pH-neutral products only, because acid etches travertine on contact.

At Pfaff Cleaning Co., we clean and seal travertine throughout Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Ahwatukee, and Sun Lakes.

The difference between a cleaning and a good cleaning is time. We take ours.

Why a range? The low end is your online price. Mosaic, clustered, or smaller-than-standard stone is quoted from a photo, since the extra grout line changes the time a lot. Send us a picture and we will give you a price, and we do not do splash-and-dash cleanings, so the top of the range covers that. We move furniture on request, just not beds, bed frames, very heavy pieces, or anything with breakables on or in it. If a lot of moving is needed, the range covers it. Your price never goes above the top of this range for what you selected, unless the scope changes on site.

๐Ÿ“‹ Estimated price is based on the details provided. Final pricing will be confirmed before service begins. If a visit minimum applies, it shows above your total, and it counts once for the whole visit, not per service, so combining services or adding optional add-ons is how most people clear it.

What Your Neighbors Are Saying

Travertine Pricing

Floors and interior travertine:

Pool decks and patios: cleaning $1.70 $2/sqft, clear sealer $2.55 $3/sqft, color enhancing $4/sqft. Showers are priced from a photo.

Why Travertine Needs a Different Approach

Travertine is soft and porous. The pits and pores pull in dirt and hard water, and anything acidic, like vinegar, lemon, or most store-bought hard water removers, eats into the surface and leaves a dull etch mark that cleaning cannot undo.

So we never use acid or razor blades on it. We work buildup with stone-safe products and real dwell time, and where calcium has bonded in, we tell you rather than trading your stone for a faster result.

Our Travertine Process

  1. Identify the finish. Tumbled, honed, or polished, plus any old sealer, which decide the right approach.
  2. Pre-treatment. pH-neutral and matched to the stone.
  3. Agitation. Orbital agitation on the stone, and our pole-mounted brush on the grout lines.
  4. Extraction. Our tile tool with a stone head cleans and extracts in the same pass, so nothing is left sitting in the pores. The floor is dry by the time we walk out.
  5. Sealing, if selected. Clear or color enhancing sealer, plus grout color seal if you added it.
  6. Final walkthrough. We go over it with you before we load out.

Clear or Color Enhancing?

Clear sealer protects without changing the look. Color enhancing sealer soaks in and deepens the browns, golds, and creams already in the stone, and on faded tumbled travertine it is the difference people remember.

We seal a small test spot with each, so you see both before you decide.

Travertine Pool Decks and Patios

Outdoor travertine takes chlorine, calcium from splash-out, constant wet-dry cycling, and full sun all at once. Sealing does more outside than it does indoors, since nothing else is protecting that stone.

Where We Stop

We clean and seal travertine. We do not hone or polish it. Etch marks and a worn polished finish take diamond refinishing, which is a different trade, and we point those out before we start.

We also do not replace or repair cracked or loose tiles.

How Often to Reseal

Every one to two years for most homes. Drip some water on it. If it beads up, you are still protected. If it soaks in and darkens the stone, it is time.

Travertine Cleaning & Sealing FAQs

Please reach us at (480) 389-8415 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Will cleaning bring the shine back on polished travertine?

Cleaning brings back what dirt was hiding. If the shine is worn off or etched, that takes honing and polishing, which we do not do. We will tell you which you have before you spend anything.

Can you remove etch marks?

No. Etching is damage to the surface, not dirt, so it takes refinishing.

Do you clean travertine showers?

Yes, priced from a photo. Shower color seal is not guaranteed, and we tell you that before booking.

How soon can we walk on it?

The floor is dry when we leave. Sealed areas need some cure time before heavy traffic, and we give you the exact wait.

Is it safe for pets and kids?

Yes, once everything has cured.

Do you clean travertine pool decks?

Yes. Cleaning is $1.70/sqft, clear sealer $2.55, and color enhancing $4.
