Homes here are built to take in the views, which means wide walls of glass facing Camelback or the McDowells. It's beautiful, and it's hard on furniture. Cream, ivory and light tan leather near those windows gets direct light for hours, and the side facing the glass can lighten or dry out faster than the rest.
Then there's how many pieces there are. A great room sectional, a pair of club chairs in the study, recliners in the media room, maybe a leather bench at the foot of the bed. Each room gets a different kind of use, so each piece wears differently.
Rotating cushions, drawing shades through the afternoon, and keeping pieces a little back from the glass all help. A yearly clean and condition helps more.

Larger homes usually have a mix of leather types, sometimes in the same room, so we test each piece in an inconspicuous spot rather than assuming.
Protected or pigmented leather, with its color coat, is durable and cleans thoroughly. Semi-aniline has a thin protective layer, and aniline has almost none, so both get a softer touch and a gentler product. Nubuck and suede are cleaned with very little moisture and brushed afterward, without conditioner.
On smooth leather, conditioning can follow cleaning to replace lost oils, which is especially helpful for sun-exposed pieces. Everything is usable again almost right away, so we can work room by room without taking over the house.

Every price is online and covers cleaning. Conditioning is optional and priced per piece, and in Arizona heat we highly recommend it.
Common Paradise Valley setups:
Cleaning will remove body oil, dust, and grime, and the darker areas on arms and headrests usually come up lighter. Dye that rubbed off from clothing or pillows often improves.
Sun fading is permanent, though. If light leather near the windows has changed color, cleaning won't restore it. The same goes for cracking, peeling, worn-through color, tears and scratches into the hide. We don't repair, recolor or re-dye. We'll walk through the pieces with you and point out anything that cleaning won't change.

No. It keeps the hide from drying out, but it is not a sunblock.
Someone should let us in and walk the rooms with us at the start. After that, it's up to you.
Our own in-house crew, no subcontractors. Pfaff is locally owned and fully insured.
Aniline usually feels very soft, shows natural markings, and darkens briefly if a drop of water touches it.
A product made for leather is fine for touch-ups. Avoid all-purpose cleaners, baby wipes and anything with alcohol, which strip oils and can dull the finish.
