Paradise Valley homes rarely have much wall-to-wall carpet, and what they do have is usually the most expensive flooring in the room it sits in.
Pfaff Cleaning Co. is locally owned, with the owners overseeing every job. See our full process and service area on the main carpet cleaning page.

Prices shown are our online rates, 15% off regular when you book online.

We say within 24 hours, and most of the time it is dry long before that. The 24 hours is on purpose, because different fibers and backings release moisture at different rates and we would rather beat the number than miss it. Airflow is what moves it: open a window, run the ceiling fan, set the HVAC fan to ON instead of AUTO. Ask and we will set an air mover on it before we go.
We flush the spot completely instead of surface treating it. Residue left in the fiber is why spots come back for other companies, and we rinse it out. It is rare for anything we removed to reappear, and if it does, call or text and we come back at no charge within 14 days, pet spots included.
Moving furniture is part of the service: sofas, chairs, tables, beds, whatever is sitting on the floor we are cleaning. We skip very heavy pieces like oversized sectionals, pianos, and anything with breakables on it or inside it, including lamps, mirrors, TVs, and china or curio cabinets. Clear those off and we handle the piece. If we are shuffling a lot of furniture through the house, expect the top end of your quoted range rather than the bottom.
Most carpet cleans up beautifully and the difference is obvious. That is the normal outcome, not the exception. This is what we do for a living and we are good at it.
We do not call a stain permanent until we have actually worked it. That means more than one professional chemistry and extra agitation before we give you that answer. Some things are out of our control, dye loss, bleach, sun fading, a spot somebody already set with the wrong product, and cleaning will not bring those back. We classify the job before we start so you know what you are getting.
We carry commercial air movers, Dri-Pod 360s and a low-profile Syclone, and if you want one running before we go, ask and we will set it up. It jump starts the drying rather than leaving the room to do it on its own.
The rest is airflow. Open a window, run the ceiling fan, kick the HVAC fan on, and the room dries a lot faster than a closed-up room with nothing moving. We will tell you what to expect for your place before we leave.
Whether you need routine carpet maintenance, pet odor removal, stain treatment, or a full deep cleaning, we clean wall-to-wall carpet, high traffic hallways, stairs and carpeted steps, pet-affected areas, residential and commercial carpet, area rugs, and entry mats.
Optional treatments: pet stain and odor treatment, deodorizer, carpet protectant, and sanitizing treatment. If pet odors have also affected your furniture, ask about upholstery cleaning.
We use Decon 30, a botanical, EPA-registered disinfectant, applied with a fogger. Not a pump sprayer and not a soaking. The fogger turns it into a fine, high-power mist that lands evenly across the fibers and settles through the room itself, so the carpet, the furniture, and the air all get treated at once and nothing gets flooded.
That part matters. Saturating fabric to sanitize it creates a worse problem than the one you started with. A mist does not.
What people notice is the room. It smells clean the way a room does after a deep clean, not after a spray can, and the difference is usually obvious the same day. It is why a lot of customers end up putting monthly sanitizing on the calendar after trying it once.
Dog urine and cat urine, red wine, coffee and tea, grease, ink, blood, vomit, and the dark high-traffic lanes that form in front of couches and down hallways. Smoke smell and cigarette odor need a different approach than a stain, and we will tell you which one you are dealing with.
Matted carpet in traffic lanes is wear, not soil. Cleaning lifts the pile and helps a lot, but fibers that have been crushed flat for years do not come all the way back, and we say that before you pay rather than after.
Move out carpet cleaning is one of the most common calls we get, and the timing is usually tight. Renters book it to protect a security deposit at the end of a lease, landlords and property managers book it as part of a make ready between tenants, and sellers book it before listing photos or an open house because clean carpet photographs better and kills the "needs new flooring" objection during a showing.
Those jobs are easier for everyone when the place is empty, so we work around closings and lease end dates. Tell us your deadline when you text the quote and we will tell you straight whether we can hit it.
Same day and next day openings happen. Not every day, and we will not promise one before we look at the schedule, but if you are up against a deadline, ask. We would rather tell you yes or no now than have you wait a week wondering.
We have seen worse. Pet accidents nobody caught, a rental somebody trashed, a house that got away from you during a hard stretch. None of it is new to us and none of it changes how we treat you. Show us the worst spot first so we can actually help.
Carpet that smells like dog even after vacuuming is urine in the backing and pad, not on the surface, which is why cleaning alone sometimes does not fix it and a pre-treatment does. Carpet that looks dirty right after cleaning is usually residue from a previous company that never rinsed properly, and that soil wicks back up within days.
Dark lines along the baseboards are filtration soiling from air moving under doors, not dirt you tracked in. Flattened paths between rooms are traffic wear. We can tell you which of these you have before we start.
Add deodorizer or sanitizing and we guarantee the smell comes out of what we cleaned. If it is still there, call us and we come back.
Two honest notes. First, the fresh scent fades after a while. That part is fragrance, and it is not what you are paying for. What lasts is the odor being gone, because we kill it at the source instead of covering it up. Three years of dog, cooking, smoke, and everyday life comes out of a carpet or a couch, and people are usually surprised by how much of it was in there.
Second, if the smell is coming from something we did not clean, it is a different job. Urine soaked into the pad, something dead in a duct, mold behind a wall, or a smoker's ceilings will not be fixed by cleaning the carpet. We will tell you which one you are dealing with rather than treating something that was never the source.
If you add carpet protectant or deodorizer, we finish by grooming the carpet with a rake. That is not decoration: raking works the product down into the pile instead of leaving it sitting on the tips, and it stands the fibers back up so the carpet dries evenly and looks finished rather than matted.
Spot and stain removal is part of the job, not an upsell. Pet stains, coffee and wine, grease, ink, and traffic lanes that have gone dark all get treated before the main cleaning pass. Most stains lift completely. A few lighten rather than disappear, and a small number are permanent damage rather than soil. We tell you which is which before we start instead of after.
Anything we treat that comes back within 14 days gets re-treated at no charge.
Carpet that looks dingy even right after vacuuming. Visible stains that will not lift with spot cleaning. Musty or stale odors. Matted or flattened high traffic paths. Increased allergy symptoms at home. Pet odors that keep coming back. Carpet that feels stiff or crunchy underfoot.
Most Paradise Valley appointments take one to three hours depending on the size of your home and the condition of your carpet. No need to move furniture out beforehand. Moving it is part of the service, apart from oversized sectionals, pianos, and anything with breakables on or inside it. We say within 24 hours and it is usually dry long before that, because different fibers release moisture at different rates and we would rather beat the number than miss it.
Nylon, polyester, triexta, olefin, berber, plush, frieze, cut pile, and loop pile. If you are not sure what you have, we identify it during the inspection and adjust.
A $25 room gets $25 worth of cleaning. That price buys a fast pass with a wand: wet the carpet, pull most of it back, move to the next room. It looks better for a week, then the traffic lanes come back grey and the spots you thought were gone wick up out of the backing.
What $55.25 online buys, $65 at the regular rate, is prespray sitting long enough to break soil loose before anything touches it, agitation so it actually releases, then enough passes to pull the water and the soil back out instead of leaving both in the pad. The whole room, not just the lane people walk. Furniture moved where we can move it.
The cheap number is not a lie, it is a different job. One of them you pay for twice.
Carpet in a Paradise Valley estate tends to live in bedrooms, media rooms, and casitas, and it is far more often wool or a wool blend than the builder-grade nylon and polyester we see elsewhere in the Valley. Wool cleans beautifully, but it is absorbent, it reacts to high pH cleaners, and it browns if it is overwetted or dried too slowly. The process that works on synthetic carpet is the wrong process here.
Square footage is the other difference. A single primary suite here can be larger than an entire condo, and guest casitas and upstairs wings mean carpet spread across several structures on one property. We plan the visit around the layout so drying is controlled room by room rather than leaving half the house damp at once.
We identify the fiber before any solution touches the floor, and on wool we use products formulated for natural fiber with controlled moisture and airflow. If a carpet is past what cleaning can recover, whether that is sun fading along a glass wall or worn pile in a traffic path, we tell you before we start.
If a spot comes back within 14 days, so do we. Free.

Deodorizer is for smell: it knocks out odor and leaves a clean floral scent. Sanitizing is for the surface: Decon 30, a hospital-grade botanical disinfectant, misted over it. A lot of people add both, since one treats the surface and the other leaves it smelling fresh.
Yes, we serve homeowners and businesses throughout Paradise Valley and the surrounding Scottsdale and Phoenix area.
Hot water extraction with orbital agitation for most jobs. The orbital head works solution into the fiber before extraction, which pulls more soil out and cuts dry time.
It removes dust, dirt, pet hair, and other particles trapped in the fibers. Cleaning is not a replacement for allergy treatment, but removing buildup helps.
Most homes do well every 12 to 18 months. Pets, kids, allergies, or heavy traffic can mean more often.
It depends on the fiber, how much soil was in it, and the airflow in the room. We will not quote you an hour count, because a wool berber in a closed room and a synthetic cut pile with a window open are not the same job. Ask for an air mover before we leave and it dries faster. Airflow helps, so run the AC or a ceiling fan.
We improve many of them with targeted treatment. Urine that has reached the backing, pad, or subfloor may be permanent, and we tell you that before we start.
