A dog that is fourteen or a cat that is eighteen does not always make it to the door or the box, and that is nobody's fault. In a lot of Mesa homes, especially in established areas like Dobson Ranch, the same pet has lived on the same carpet for a long time. The accidents come gradually, so you get used to the smell before you notice it.
The spots usually sit where the pet spends its day: next to its bed, in front of the couch, near the water bowl, and along the route to the back door. They often overlap, so one "area" can be several years of small accidents on top of each other.
We do not judge any of it. If you are taking care of an old pet, you have enough on your plate.
We look at the whole room first. Layered accidents spread underneath, so the real area is usually bigger than the faded patch you can see on top.
Un-Duz-It is the enzyme we put down. Its job is to break up the uric acid crystals where the odor actually lives, and it needs dwell time to get there, so it is applied before we clean and left to sit.
Hot water extraction comes next, rinsing the carpet and carrying the broken-down residue out with the water. We finish with air movers to dry it properly.
The level depends on what is in each area. Pet odor and dander with no accidents is $30. A single accident is $40. Two or three is $75. Lots of visible spots is $110. Spots that have been repeated until they reached the pad are $150.

Common Mesa setups:
When a spot has been used for years, the urine is often down in the pad. Our treatment goes in place, through the carpet. We do not pull up carpet and we do not replace pad.
A lot of older buildup still releases well. Some does not let go completely, and old, deep saturation is the most likely to leave a trace of odor behind. We will tell you plainly what we expect before we begin, so nothing comes as a surprise.
