Shelter dogs come with their own history. Some were never house-trained, some get nervous in a new place, and some mark a room to make it feel like theirs. Accidents in the first month or two are normal, and they tend to land in the same few places: the hall outside the bedroom, beside the couch, the stair landing.
A newer home makes it more frustrating. Carpet that was nearly perfect a month ago now has spots you can see and a smell guests notice. The good news is that young carpet usually responds very well, as long as the urine gets broken down rather than just wiped off the top.
Getting the scent out also helps with training. A dog that can still smell an old spot is more likely to use it again.
Whatever you see on the surface is the smallest part of an accident. Below it, urine fans out through the backing and into the pad, then dries into crystals that release odor whenever the air turns damp.
So we start with an enzyme, Un-Duz-It, placed on each affected area and given time to digest those crystals. Only after that do we clean, using hot water extraction to carry the broken-down material out. Air movers help the area dry quickly, so your dog is not lying on damp carpet that evening.
Each treated area is priced by severity: $30 odor and dander only, $40 one accident, $75 a few accidents, $110 lots of visible spots, $150 repeat spots into the pad. Cleaning runs $55.25 a room or staircase online, against $65 regular, and a long hallway is $42.50. For a sofa the new dog has claimed, pet treatment starts at $85. Goodyear has a $500 visit minimum.
