In a newer two-story, walk upstairs before you price it. The loft and the upstairs closets are the lines people most often forget to count.

Goodyear backs onto open desert and is still building out, so the soil in its carpet is mostly fine, powdery dust, with an extra load after every monsoon storm. Dust that fine slips below the surface of the pile, past where a vacuum reaches.
Loosen it, then lift it. The pre-treatment gets time to break that dust free before the machine passes over it. Skip the wait and the dust just gets wet and stays put.
Older Palm Valley carpet usually needs the most of that patience. The newer fiber in Estrella and Centerra responds faster, since the pile has not worn down yet.

What does not change it: monsoon dust, the age of the carpet, or how long it has been. More soil means more passes on our time.
