Material comes first. The wrong solution on wool causes browning, dye bleed, or fiber damage that cleaning cannot undo, so we identify what you own before anything touches it.
Wool, Persian, oriental, and hand-knotted rugs are normal work for us, cleaned right in your home. The only rug we do not clean is one with viscose in it, even a blend, and we tell you before starting if that is what you have.
Booked online, cleaning is 15% below the regular rate. The per-rug extras are not discounted.

Wool costs more because it gets a lower pH chemistry and gentler agitation than a synthetic does. A rug that turns out to be the other fiber on the day is repriced in front of you before we start.

Yes, by hand and gently. On most woven rugs the fringe is the end of the warp threads, so it is part of the rug rather than a trim.
Once a year suits most rugs. One in the main walkway, or one the dogs share, does better at six months, especially after a dusty monsoon season.
