In Sun City Grand and Arizona Traditions, a lot of residents roll the rugs up before heading somewhere cooler. A rug rolled up dusty, or with a pet spot in it, sits like that through months of heat in a closed house. Having it cleaned before it goes back down in the fall means it goes onto a clean floor clean, and nothing stored in it comes back out into the room.
