Leather is a smart pick for a busy household. Fur does not weave into it, muddy paws brush off, and a spilled cup is a quick wipe. That convenience is exactly why it can go years without a proper clean.
Under the surface, though, dog oils, drool, kid hands and sunscreen build up. You see it as a dull, darker patch where the dog curls up or a shine along the arm. Store-bought wipes can leave their own residue, which adds another layer.
Different leathers call for different handling, so we sort that out first.
Pigmented leather, also called protected, has a colored topcoat and is the most forgiving; it is also what most family-friendly furniture uses. Aniline and semi-aniline leather is softer with little or no topcoat, so it soaks things up and needs a careful method. Nubuck and suede are napped; we clean those with very little moisture, brush the nap upright and leave conditioner off.
We clean every kind. A quick test on a spot nobody sees tells us how your piece reacts, and then we use the method that fits. If you add conditioning, smooth leather gets it afterward to keep it soft and harder for the next mess to sink into.
Each online price is for cleaning. Conditioning is an optional add-on per piece, and we highly recommend it in Arizona heat.

Dog oil, drool marks, grubby handprints, wipe residue and jean dye usually come off or fade a good deal, and the dog's favorite corner often looks closer to the rest of the couch.

It usually helps a lot, since most of that smell comes from oils sitting on the surface. Urine soaked into cushions is a separate pet treatment.
We use products made for leather furniture, and the surface is dry to the touch soon after we finish, so the family can use it again quickly.
Over time they can dry the finish. A soft cloth with plain water is the better everyday choice.
Light surface scuffs sometimes look softer after conditioning.
