What moves the price: how much grout has failed, whether it is already loose or cracked but still in the joint (that grout has to be cut out with a grout saw), joint width, tile size and layout, baseboard protection, whether you have leftover grout from the install or we order it, and whether you add color sealing. The optional clean and color seal afterward is priced at our normal tile rates.

Showers in particular come out best on two visits: repair first, then clean and color seal after the cure, so the patched lines and the original ones finish as one color.
Repairs on showers, floors, and backsplashes: grout that crumbles, cracks along baseboards and in corners, and shower seams that have split open. We cut out only what failed and replace it, which some people call grout replacement, and you can color seal afterward so everything matches.
Bad mix at install. Too much water in the batch and the grout never cures to full strength, so it powders out of the joint over the years. Settling. A tiny bit of movement over the years, and the grout cracks wherever the floor meets something that does not move, like a baseboard or a corner. Daily shower use. Water, soap, and calcium slowly eat at the joints until they crack and loosen.
We only repair grout where the tile is still bonded. Tap across a floor and a sound tile gives a tight click, while one that has let go sounds hollow. A hollow tile shifts underfoot, and new grout around it cracks again within months, so we tap before we quote. If it sounds hollow, we send you to a tile setter instead of filling a joint that will fail.
Showers have their own warning signs. White chalky residue on the lines, grout that stays dark for hours after a shower, tiles that wiggle, or a musty smell all point to water trapped behind the tile or under the pan. That moisture keeps pushing out through any new grout, and it calls for waterproofing or pan work from a contractor. We tell you before we start.
Floor repairs carry a one year guarantee against the new grout cracking or loosening under normal use. It does not cover fresh settling cracks in other spots, water damage, structural movement, or repairs done with grout you supplied. Showers are not guaranteed, whether it is the repair, the cleaning, or the color seal. Some last for years and some do not, and a short life does not mean the work was wrong, because water, soap, calcium, ventilation, and moisture behind the tile are beyond our control. Running the exhaust fan during and after each shower helps.
Full regrouts, tile replacement or tile repair, and caulking. When a job is larger than a grout repair, you hear it from us first.
The color seal is hand work in every joint: clean the line, apply the color, then wipe the excess off the tile face before it sets. Wait too long on that last step and the haze stays on the tile for good. Our speed comes from repetition, not shortcuts, and floors carry the same one year guarantee.
When someone in Surprise asks about shower grout restoration or shower tile restoration, they usually mean split seams, empty corners, and grout that crumbles under a thumbnail. We repair the failed sections and reseal. A full shower regrout from scratch is not something we offer, and we say that before the visit.
Surprise has hard water, and every shower leaves a little calcium in the grout. After enough years the seams crack and start letting go. No. We are fully insured and do targeted grout repairs on showers, floors, and backsplashes across Surprise. Loose tile and water behind a shower wall belong to a different trade, and we say so at the start.
You can supply it, and it may trim your price a little. Grout has a shelf life of about a year, so a bag from a 2000s Sun City Grand build is long past it, and even one from a recent Asante home may be too. Repairs done with your own grout fall outside the floor guarantee, so we suggest fresh.
Plan on roughly 12 days with color sealing: about 5 for the grout to cure, then 7 after the color seal.
Not on its own. Fresh grout always looks different from grout that has been down for years. A clean and grout color seal after the cure brings every joint to one shade, and it can even out darker walkways at the same time.
Yes. Baseboards get covered while we work, and the cracked joints along them and in the corners are cut out and refilled.
No, we do not take on shower glass, only the tile, stone, and grout around it. For hard water spots on glass, we suggest Bio-Clean Hard Water Stain Remover. It is non-acidic, so it will not etch nearby stone or grout the way most acid removers can. Test a small patch first.
