Material comes first. The wrong solution on wool causes browning, dye bleed, or fiber damage that cleaning cannot undo, so we identify what you own before anything touches it.
Wool, Persian, oriental, and hand-knotted rugs are normal work for us, cleaned right in your home. The only rug we do not clean is one with viscose in it, even a blend, and we tell you before starting if that is what you have.

The add-ons are priced by size class, and the top class starts at 8x10. So protectant on a 12x15 costs $35, the same as on an 8x10, even though it covers more than twice the floor. The bigger the rug, the better value the extras become.
The square-foot rate works the other way: every added foot counts. Going from a 10x14 to a 12x15 wool rug adds 40 square feet, or $119.
Rugs here often sit on hardwood. On wood, the rug is rolled up and the wet work is done in the garage or on the patio, then it comes back to its spot. There is no added charge for that setup.

Most rugs dry in a few hours. A thick wool pile can take up to a day, so plan to keep the furniture off it until then.

Check the label first. Fringe that is part of the rug rather than sewn on, and a pattern that shows clearly on the back, point to a hand-knotted rug, which is usually wool. If the fiber turns out different, the price is corrected on site.
