Carpet cleaning removes the dust, soil, pet hair, and allergens that settle down into the fiber where vacuuming never reaches. In the Valley, that is mostly fine desert grit tracked in off the driveway, and it is abrasive, so it grinds at the fiber every time someone walks on it.
Pfaff Cleaning Co. provides carpet cleaning across the Valley, including Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Ahwatukee, and Sun Lakes. Hot water extraction with orbital agitation, wall-to-wall, stairs, hallways, and closets.
The difference between a cleaning and a good cleaning is time. We take ours.

Wool needs extra care and wool-safe products to protect it from browning or yellowing, so it's priced higher. Not sure? Pick No, since most homes have synthetic carpet. If we find wool on site, we confirm the price before we start.

We clean with hot water extraction, what most people call steam cleaning.
Every carpet is different. Fiber type, soil level, traffic patterns, stains, and pets all change what the right approach is, so we look at your carpet before we start instead of running every job through the same process.
We use hot water extraction with orbital agitation for most jobs. The orbital head works solution into the fiber before extraction, which pulls more soil out and cuts dry time significantly compared to extraction alone.
We will also tell you what will not come out. Heavily soiled traffic lanes that have worn down, permanent staining, bleach spots, and pet urine that has reached the pad are past what surface cleaning recovers. Cleaning improves them. It does not erase them, and anyone who tells you otherwise is setting you up to be disappointed.

Wall-to-wall carpet, high-traffic areas, stairs and carpeted steps, pet-affected areas, and commercial and office carpet.
Area rugs are a different job. Wool and natural fiber rugs need different chemistry and different handling, and the wrong solution causes browning or dye bleed that does not come back. That work lives on our area rug cleaning page.
Carpet that looks dingy right after vacuuming. Stains that will not lift with spot cleaner. A musty or stale smell in carpeted rooms. Matted traffic paths that are visibly darker than the rest of the room. Pet odors that keep coming back. Carpet that feels stiff or crunchy underfoot.
That crunchy feeling is usually detergent residue from a previous cleaning, not dirt. Over-shampooing without proper rinsing leaves soap in the fiber, and soap attracts soil, so the carpet gets dirty faster every time.
This is the one people ask about after the fact, usually because they wish they had added it.
We use Decon 30, a botanical, EPA-registered disinfectant, applied with a fogger. Not a pump sprayer, not a soaking. The fogger turns it into a fine, high-power mist that lands evenly across the fibers and settles into the room itself. Your carpet, your furniture, the air, all of it gets treated at once, and nothing gets flooded.
That matters, because saturating fabric to sanitize it creates a worse problem than the one you started with. A mist does not.
What people notice is the room. It smells clean, the way a room does after a deep clean instead of after a spray can. The difference is usually obvious the same day, and it is the reason a lot of our customers put monthly sanitizing on the calendar after trying it once.
We have seen worse. Pet accidents nobody caught, a rental somebody trashed, a house that got away from you during a hard stretch. None of it is new to us and none of it changes how we treat you. Show us the worst spot first so we can actually help.
Carpet that smells like dog after vacuuming is urine in the backing and pad, not on the surface. Carpet that looks dirty a week after cleaning is usually residue from a company that never rinsed properly, and that soil wicks back up. Dark lines along baseboards are filtration soiling from air movement, not dirt you tracked in. Flattened paths between rooms are traffic wear.
Each of those has a different answer, and we tell you which one you have before we start.
Add deodorizer or sanitizing and we guarantee the smell comes out of what we cleaned. If it is still there, call us and we come back.
Two honest notes. First, the fresh scent fades after a while. That part is fragrance, and it is not what you are paying for. What lasts is the odor being gone, because we kill it at the source instead of covering it up. Three years of dog, cooking, smoke, and everyday life comes out of a carpet or a couch, and people are usually surprised by how much of it was in there.
Second, if the smell is coming from something we did not clean, it is a different job. Urine soaked into the pad, something dead in a duct, mold behind a wall, or a smoker's ceilings will not be fixed by cleaning the carpet. We will tell you which one you are dealing with rather than treating something that was never the source.
Add carpet protectant or deodorizer and we finish by grooming the carpet with a rake. Raking works the product down into the pile instead of leaving it on the fiber tips, and it stands the pile back up so the carpet dries evenly and looks finished rather than matted.
Spot and stain removal is part of the job, not an upsell. Pet stains, coffee and wine, grease, ink, and traffic lanes that have gone dark all get treated before the main cleaning pass. Most stains lift completely. A few lighten rather than disappear, and a small number are permanent damage rather than soil.
Most carpet cleans up beautifully and the difference is obvious when we pull the furniture back. That is the normal outcome, not the exception. This is what we do for a living and we are good at it.
We do not call a stain permanent until we have actually worked it. That means more than one professional chemistry and extra agitation before we give you that answer. Some things are genuinely out of our control, dye loss, bleach, sun fading, a spot somebody already set with the wrong product, and no amount of cleaning brings those back. We classify the job before we start so you know what you are getting, and we show you the difference rather than just saying it is set in.
Most homes take up to three hours, depending on square footage and carpet condition.
Carpet is typically not oversaturated.
Nylon, polyester, triexta, olefin, berber, plush, frieze, cut pile, and loop pile.
Fiber matters more than people expect. Olefin releases soil easily but wicks stains back up as it dries, so it needs different extraction. Wool-blend berber browns if it is over-wet. Nylon takes heat well and cleans up better than almost anything else.
If you do not know what you have, that is fine. We identify it during the inspection and adjust.
The dust here is fine and it is abrasive. It works down past the tips of the fiber into the base, where a vacuum’s suction does not reach, and then it grinds against the fiber every time someone walks through. That is what wears traffic lanes down, and once the fiber is physically worn, no cleaning brings it back.
Getting that grit out on a regular cycle is the single biggest thing that extends carpet life in a Valley home. Most households do well every 12 to 18 months, sooner with pets or kids.
If a spot comes back within 14 days, so do we. Free.
We take our time. No job gets rushed to make room for the next one.
Every job Pfaff Cleaning Co. has taken on has been handled by our own team. We’re at a 5.0 on Google.
Spot comes back within 14 days? So do we. No charge, no argument.
We are independent, not a franchise. No royalty built into your price and no commission pushing add-ons. Here is what actually changes between the two.
We are not the cheapest quote you will get, and we are not trying to be. We price the job, not the appointment. You get your number before we ever knock on your door, and what we confirm at the door is what you pay.
We will also give you a straight answer about what your carpet can realistically look like when we are done. That conversation happens before we start, not after.

Carpet cleaning for pet stains is a different job than a regular cleaning. Surface cleaning takes the stain off the face yarn and leaves the crystals in the pad, which is why the smell comes back on the first humid day.
See pet odor treatment for what we actually do about it.
We carry commercial air movers, Dri-Pod 360s and a low-profile Syclone, and if you want one running while we are there, ask and we will set it up. It jump starts the drying rather than leaving the room to do it on its own.
The rest is airflow. Open a window, run the ceiling fan, kick the HVAC fan on, and the room dries a lot faster than a closed-up room with nothing moving. We will tell you what to expect for your place before we leave.
Most are dry within the hour. Our Rotovac Monsoon pulls stronger suction than most truck mounts, straight back through the hose, so the water comes out with the dirt instead of sitting in your carpet. We fill the tank with hot water from your sink, set the machine on drop cloths, and carry up to 200 feet of hose to reach every room. The 24 hours we quote is on purpose. Different fibers and backings hold and release moisture differently, a wool berber is not a builder-grade synthetic, and we would rather beat the number than miss it.
Airflow is what actually moves it. Ask and we will run an air mover on it while we are there.
We move furniture on request. Sofas, chairs, tables, and the pieces that actually sit on the floor you are paying us to clean. We do not move beds, bed frames, very heavy pieces, or anything with breakables on or in it.
What we will not move: oversized sectionals, pianos, and anything with breakables on it or inside it. Lamps, mirrors, TVs, china cabinets, curio cabinets, electronics on a console. Clear those off and we will handle the piece itself.
If we are shuffling a lot of furniture through the house, expect the top end of your quoted range rather than the bottom. That is labor, and we would rather tell you than surprise you. Clear what you can off the floor beforehand and it comes in lower.
We flush the spot completely rather than surface treating it and moving on. That is the whole reason spots come back for other companies: product left behind in the fiber attracts soil, and residue deeper in the pile works its way up as the carpet dries. We rinse it out.
It is rare for anything we removed to reappear. If it does, call or text and we come back, no trip fee. Anything we treated that shows up again within 14 days gets re-treated at no charge, pet spots included.

Deodorizer is for smell, sanitizing is for the surface. Deodorizer knocks out odor and leaves a clean floral scent. Each is $30 per area, and a lot of people add both. Either one comes with our odor guarantee on what we cleaned.
It can help by removing what the carpet is holding. Dust, pet hair, dander, and fine desert grit settle below the fiber tips where a vacuum does not reach, and deep cleaning pulls them out. It is not a replacement for allergy treatment, but many households notice a fresher home. A sanitizing add-on is popular in homes with kids and pets.
Yes, every common residential carpet, wool wall-to-wall included, with the method adjusted to the fiber.
Every 12 to 18 months for most homes. Homes with pets, kids, allergies, or heavy foot traffic do better with more frequent cleanings.
Mostly hot water extraction. On some fibers and soil levels a low-moisture method fits better, so we choose on site based on your carpet rather than running every job the same way.
Most are dry within the hour, and fibers that hold moisture take a little longer. Thicker fiber, heavy soil, and a closed room dry slower, while a morning appointment gives it the whole day. Run the AC or a ceiling fan and set the HVAC fan to ON. We can bring an air mover on request if you want extra airflow.
Usually, yes. Our enzyme pet treatment goes on before cleaning and gets time to work, and most of the time the urine, smell, and stain all come out. It is priced per room by severity, from $30 to $150. Urine that soaked into the backing, pad, or subfloor may be permanent, and we tell you that before we start. See pet odor treatment.
Yes. We use professional methods and products chosen for homes, matched to your fiber and soil, and we rinse thoroughly so residue is not left in the carpet. Keep kids and pets off the cleaned areas until the carpet is fully dry, which for most carpet is within the hour. Wet carpet can also be slippery, especially on stairs.
Protectant puts a barrier around the fibers so spills sit on top long enough to blot instead of soaking in. It also slows how fast soil grinds into the carpet and helps the fiber wear better. It is our most popular add-on at $35 per area, and we groom it into the pile with a rake when we finish.
Yes. Protectant is $35 per area, optional and priced separately from the cleaning, like deodorizer.
Carpet is priced by the room, not by how dirty it is. It starts at $55.25 a room online, $65 regular, with stairs, hallways, and closets on their own lines. A great room prices as two rooms. Our instant quote tool prices your whole house in about a minute, with no tax added and no hidden fees.
