We're in Cave Creek all the time, and we take on grout repair across the city.
We repair failing grout in Cave Creek by cutting out cracked joints with a grout saw and refilling them with Custom Building Products or Mapei grout. Pick the kind of repair below for a range and send it to book, or call (480) 389-8415 from 7am to 8pm, any day.
New grout never matches old grout. A color seal afterward brings it all to one even color.
Price it yourselfA lot of Cave Creek tile went down in the 1980s and 1990s, and some of it sits on slabs that have shifted a little on the rocky desert soil since. That is where grout lets go first: along the baseboards, at doorways, and in the corners of original showers.
Our full repair method and service area are on the main grout repair page.
Repairs are priced as ranges and confirmed from a photo or on site, and they are not discounted online.

Want the rest of the tile cleaned while we are out? The instant quote tool totals every service at once.
Where your number lands in the range: the amount of failed grout, whether cracked grout is still stuck in the joint and has to come out with a grout saw, how wide the joints are, the tile size and pattern, how much baseboard needs covering, and whether we supply the grout or you have some left from the install. A clean and color seal afterward is optional and billed at our normal tile rates.

Splitting it into a repair day and a later clean and color seal day is what makes a shower look like it was done all at once rather than patched.

Crumbling floor grout, cracks along baseboards and in corners, gaps in backsplashes, and shower seams that have split or washed out. Some people call it grout replacement. We cut out only the grout that failed and refill it, then it cures, and a color seal makes the old and new lines one shade.
A bad mix at install. Too much water in the original batch means the grout never got to full strength, and it slowly powders out of the joints. Movement. Slabs shift slightly over the years, and grout cracks first where the floor meets something rigid, like a wall or a cabinet run. Shower wear. Water, soap, and minerals eat at shower grout until the seams split and loosen.
Water trapped behind tile is a separate problem. If moisture is stuck behind the wall or under the pan, it keeps forcing its way out through the joints, and new grout fails again. Clues include white chalky powder on the lines, grout that stays dark for hours after a shower, loose tiles, or a musty smell. If we see them, we tell you up front, because the fix is waterproofing or pan work by a contractor.
We only repair grout around tile that is still stuck down. Tap across a floor and a bonded tile gives a tight, solid sound while a loose one sounds hollow. A hollow tile keeps moving, so new grout around it cracks again within months. We tap the area before quoting, and if it is hollow we send you to a tile setter instead of filling a joint that will not last.
Floor repairs are guaranteed for one year against the repaired grout cracking or loosening under normal use. That does not extend to new settling cracks elsewhere, water damage, structural movement, or repairs made with grout you supplied. Showers are not guaranteed, whether repair, cleaning, or color sealing. Some last for years and some fail early, and a short life does not mean poor work, since water, soap, minerals, ventilation, and moisture behind the tile are outside our control. Running the exhaust fan during and after showers helps.
Full regrouts, tile replacement or tile repair, and caulking are not part of our work. If your job is bigger than a grout repair, you hear that before booking.
The cost follows the grout line, not the material. Each joint is cleaned, then colored by hand, then the haze is wiped from the tile face before it sets. Miss that window and the film stays on the tile for good. Experience is what keeps it fast and clean, including the lines tucked under cabinet toe kicks that a rushed job misses.
Original showers in older Cave Creek homes are where we see the most of this: split seams, empty corners, and grout that crumbles under a thumbnail. Hard well water speeds that up. We repair the failed sections and seal them. We do not regrout a whole shower from scratch, and we say so before we come out.
Cave Creek's mix of older ranch homes, territorial-style customs, and 1990s builds in Tatum Ranch means plenty of grout that has been down for decades. Big temperature swings between summer afternoons and cool desert nights add a little movement to every slab, and the grout gives first.
Almost all of it is a repair rather than a replacement, which is the work we do.
We set the repair date and the clean and color seal date together, so you know both before the first cut is made and nothing waits on a callback.
Floor repairs guaranteed for a full year.

No. We are a fully insured cleaning company that does targeted grout repairs in showers, floors, and backsplashes. Loose tile and water behind a shower wall belong to other trades.
You can supply it, and it may shave a little off the price. Bagged grout has a shelf life of about a year, though, so a bag from an older Cave Creek build is almost certainly past it. We recommend fresh grout, and repairs made with yours are not covered by the floor guarantee.
Roughly 12 days if you add color sealing: about 5 days for the new grout to cure, then 7 more after the color seal.
Without a color seal, yes. Fresh grout never looks like grout that has aged in place. A clean and color seal afterward makes every joint the same shade.
Yes. Baseboard and corner cracks are some of the most common repairs we do, and we cover the baseboards while we work.
No, glass is not something we take on, though the tile, stone, and grout around it are. For hard water spots on glass we suggest Bio-Clean Hard Water Stain Remover, which is non-acidic and will not etch nearby stone or grout. Test a small patch first.
