Joint sand is what keeps each paver locked to its neighbors. Pull it out, and the stones start moving independently, edges lift, and weeds and ants find a way in. In Surprise that sand gets flushed by irrigation, washed out by summer storms, and swept away a little more every week.

Clean and seal is $2.75 a square foot. With new joint sand it is $4.50. Both packages sit outside the online discount, since sealer, sand, and labor are already priced as tight as we can go.
Look for open gaps at the edges, pavers that shift under your foot, or weeds and ant trails along the lines. Any of those means resanding. If the joints are full and firm, clean and seal covers it.
