Finding out what a shower costs should not eat an afternoon. A 3x5 walk-in with a light soap haze and a 3x5 stone shower carrying ten years of calcium are completely different jobs, and one clear picture tells us which you have. Send it and the price comes back the same day.

Calcium and scale settle onto tile, fixtures, and into the grout of every Valley shower. Calcium that has bonded deep into grout or tile does not always release completely, so total removal is never guaranteed.
Etching is another matter. When mineral has actually eaten into soft stone, the surface is damaged, not dirty, and nothing reverses it. Slide a fingertip across the dull area: rough points to etching, smooth but cloudy usually means deposit. We check and tell you which before starting.
A blade is the quickest way to shift bonded calcium, and it is also how glazed tile gets chipped. An acidic cleaner etches travertine, marble, and limestone the moment it touches them. We use neither. We work old deposits with the right product and real dwell time and stop before the surface underneath pays for it. Sometimes the result looks brand new. Sometimes it is a big improvement with a little mineral left in the stone, and we tell you which to expect up front.
Soap film and surface calcium, nearly always. The orange or pink tint in grout lines too, since that is usually bacteria rather than dye. Pebble floors and mosaic pans improve a lot, though their texture hangs on to more than flat tile. What does not come out: etching, grout that has gone patchy over the years, where color sealing is the real fix, and caulk that has failed, which has to be cut out and redone by someone else.
We repair cracked or missing grout in sections, but we do not regrout an entire shower, which is tile contractor work. We do not replace, repair, or remove tile, we do not work on shower glass, and we do not replace caulk. What we will always do is tell you which problem you are actually facing, which can save you from paying for a fix that was never going to work.
Hard water shows up quickly here. A shower used every day can carry visible deposit within a couple of years, and the large-format tile with dark grout found in many newer Marley Park and Asante bathrooms shows every bit of it. In the original master baths around Sun City Grand, showers that have gone twenty years without a professional cleaning often have calcium bonded right into the grout.
Much of what people assume is ruined turns out to be buildup, and buildup can usually be brought a long way back. Before pricing a remodel, find out which one you have.
A guest shower used only when family visits builds a different kind of film, with standing water drying in the same spots each time. A cleaning before winter visitors arrive keeps it from greeting them with spots.

Yes, and plenty of color sealed showers last for years. It is not guaranteed in a shower the way it is on a floor, because constant water, soap, and moisture behind the tile are out of our hands. A 25% deposit covers the material.
No, glass is not something we take on. Knowing whether glass is etched or just coated is still worth finding out before you hire anyone, since etching is permanent.
Not until you know what you are dealing with. A shower that looks remodel-ready is often just buildup, and dark grout with big tile makes it look worse than it is.
